A Curved Microstrip Patch Antenna Designed From Transparent Conductive Films

Transparent microstrip patch antennas suffer from low radiation efficiency and gain when manufactured using transparent conductive films (TCFs), mainly at frequency (starting the microwave S band). To address this problem, we propose a curved antenna designed materials. This new configuration has proven to be simple effective solution improve of TCF printed antennas. In fact, typical values surface resistance are considered (between 2 10 $\Omega $ /sq), features up 72.3% realized 5.3 dBi 2.15 GHz, with significant improvement in comparison flat (up 17.7% efficiency, 0.5 gain). Good transparency lightweight is ensured by deposition on polyethylene terephthalate film, which lies, turn, 3D-printed glycol supporting frame. Simulations Ansys HFSS presented demonstrate potential proposed configuration. Then, prototype fabricated measured assess simulated results.
